Dynamic Knowledge Architecture

DKA is the methodology behind everything we build. Developed through 39 years of applied work — not theory — it provides the framework for structuring personal health knowledge so that individuals can understand their own patterns, test what works, and make informed decisions about their own care. Every application on this page is an expression of DKA principles.

The Engine

The CCI Knowledge Suite

Four tools, one pipeline: capturing the tacit wisdom of expert clinicians — and the evidence they trust — and turning it into safe, personal, published content and conversational AI. Extract · Curate · Engineer · Converse. This is the proprietary methodology behind every program on this page, refined across six generations of deployed systems since 1997 — with one stage already live in production.

Others clone how experts sound. CCI captures how experts think — and ships it safely, in their voice, before it's lost. Explore the interactive page: put a clinician's raw idea through the whole pipeline, open the system map, and meet the tools — WisdomIQ, ResearchIQ, the knowledge engine, and the knowledge chat.

Origin: Thirty years of hand-crafted clinical knowledge engineering — telephone counseling systems, interactive CDs, clinic platforms — industrialized into a repeatable suite

N=1 — Personal Health Intelligence

In research, N=1 means a study of one. That's the idea: you are your own most important research subject. The N=1 platform is a personal health operating system that puts DKA methodology directly in your hands — giving you the tools to organize your health knowledge, try interventions, track what works over time, and make course corrections based on evidence you've gathered yourself.

This isn't a system built for an HMO or a hospital. It's built for the person. Adaptive assessments, personalized coaching, behavioral feedback, scenario-based learning, and longitudinal tracking — all designed around the principle that self-empowerment through personal knowledge is the most powerful force in healthcare. Each application below runs on this platform.

Applications

Your tools for self-discovery

Each application within N=1 focuses on a specific dimension of your health. They don't just deliver information — they help you investigate yourself: uncover your own patterns, test approaches, and build the personal knowledge that drives real change.

PainCoach
In Development
Pain Assessment & Rehabilitation

Your pain is more than a number. PainCoach helps you explore the psychosocial factors behind your experience — fear-avoidance patterns, beliefs about pain, self-efficacy, readiness to change — the factors research identifies as the strongest predictors of rehabilitation outcomes. Understand your own patterns. Test what works. Take ownership of your recovery.

Origin: Developed from clinical knowledge engineering work in physical therapy and spine rehabilitation
VIGIL
In Development
Relapse Prevention & Self-Awareness

For individuals living with serious mental illness, VIGIL is an intelligent relapse prevention system that transforms the critical four-week window before psychotic relapse into an opportunity for collaborative action. Video-enhanced self-assessment, dual risk profiles, shared decision-support, and personalized prevention action plans — all designed for the people who need it most.

Origin: Pilot tested in 2013–2014 with 24 patients and 10 clinicians achieving 92% usability and 98% clinician reuse intent. Now being rebuilt with AI-enhanced capabilities.
Diabetes Advisor
In Development
Diabetes Education & Self-Management

Most diabetes tools focus on what people should do. Diabetes Advisor addresses why they don't — and how to change that. Built on behavior change science and expert systems technology, the platform delivers personalized behavioral coaching between clinical visits: intelligent assessment of individual barriers, guided goal-setting, and continuous motivational support through interactive multimedia. It treats behavior change as the core clinical problem, not an afterthought.

Origin: First built in 1998 as an expert system for behavioral self-management, developed under pharmaceutical and clinical partnerships, and deployed across multiple care settings over 12 years. Diabetes Advisor addressed the psychological reality of 24/7 disease management. Now being re-engineered with current AI capabilities.
Master Directory
Live
Medical Documentation & Self-Advocacy

When a personal health journey crosses years, providers, and specialties, knowing your own history becomes its own challenge. Master Directory is N=1 applied to documentation — a single browser-native application holding 60+ medical records, 18 providers, 8 consultation transcripts, and analytical work product, all navigable by date, by provider, by issue, by your own notes. The patient becomes the architect of their own health record, with a sharable artifact a new provider, a specialist, or a family member can open and understand in one sitting.

Origin: Built collaboratively with Claude in 2026 for a complex multi-year personal health journey. In continuous use; demonstrates DKA methodology applied to personal health documentation.
Additional Applications
Expanding Clinical Domains

The N=1 platform supports unlimited applications. New modules — functional medicine protocols, detoxification guidance, additional mental health conditions, care navigation tools, and more — can be built on the same engine. Wherever there's a gap between what you're told and what you need to know about yourself, there's an application waiting to be built.

Your health knowledge belongs to you.

If you're a practitioner who believes in empowering individuals — or someone ready to take ownership of your own health intelligence — we'd like to hear from you.
